The Tokyo Imperial Palace is located in Tokyo, Japan in the Chiyoda district.  The palace is currently the home of the Emperor of Japan and has served as such since 1868. The site itself is built on top of the old Edo Castle that was mostly destroyed during the Meiji Restoration. The site itself is a park that covers an area of 1.32 square miles and is a portal to the past that lies within the tall skyscrapers that make up much of Tokyo. Each area of the grounds holds their own unique beauty or representations of the deep cultural history that Japan has.
